Who we are
Daily Queery is a daily LGBTQ+ trivia game at www.dailyqueery.com, operated by Chaki Communications. If you have a question about privacy, or want to make a request about your data, email privacy@dailyqueery.com.
The short version
There are no accounts. We do not ask for your name, your email address, or anything else that identifies you, and we do not have a database of players. Your streak lives on your own device, not on our servers.
Nothing below changes that. It is about what Google collects, not about us learning who you are.
We do show advertising, and we do measure how the site is used. Google collects data for both. That is the part worth reading below.
What we store on your device
The game keeps a few small values in your browser's local storage so it can remember your progress:
- your current daily streak
- the date you last played
- which days you have already completed
These never leave your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data erases them, which also resets your streak.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and may use your prior visits to this and other websites to show you personalised advertising. Google acts as an independent controller of the data it collects - we do not receive it and cannot access it.
You can review and change your ad personalisation settings at Google My Ad Center, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent choices before personalised ads are shown, and you can change them at any time.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how many people play, which pages get read, and roughly where in the world visitors are. It tells us that a history article was read four hundred times. It does not tell us who read it.
Google Analytics sets cookies and collects data including your approximate location, device, browser and the pages you visit. We use it to decide what to write next, and we have no way to connect any of it to a named person, because we never learn your name.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site that uses it with Google's browser add-on.
Your consent choices
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are switched off until you choose otherwise, and you will be asked before anything is stored. Elsewhere they are on by default, and the opt-outs above and below still apply.
Hosting and technical logs
The site is hosted by Vercel and its question data is stored with Supabase. As with any website, their servers process the requests your browser makes and keep standard technical logs, which include IP addresses, for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify or profile players.
What we do not do
- No accounts, sign-ups or passwords.
- No database of players, and no profile of you built by us.
- No selling or sharing of personal data - we hold none to sell.
- No emails from us, because we do not have your address.
Children
Daily Queery is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and the UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK, data protection law gives you rights to access, correct, erase and restrict the use of your personal data. Because we do not collect personal data, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve or delete - your game progress is on your device and you can clear it yourself at any time.
Requests about data collected by Google's advertising should be directed to Google. For anything about this site, contact privacy@dailyqueery.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
