About Daily Queery
What it is
Five questions a day about LGBTQ+ history, culture, politics and science. The same five for everyone, replaced every day. No accounts, no sign-up, no cost - you open it, you play, you come back tomorrow.
It covers drag herstory, pop culture, the serious business of rights and activism, and the corners of science and history where queer people have been quietly getting on with it for centuries.
Why this exists
I have always been a big trivia fan. I’ve had so much fun going to pub quiz nights, and playing trivia games with my friends that I wanted to create a trivia game for our community. Something that is fun to play. Something you can brag about when you do well, and something that helps us learn about our history and aspects of our culture that we may have never otherwise known.
Who makes it
Daily Queery is made by Chaki Communications - a small independent operation, not a media company. Every question is written and edited by hand.
How the questions get made
Each question is researched and checked against primary sources where they exist. Dates, names, figures and quotes get verified rather than remembered, because queer history is full of details that everyone knows and that turn out to be slightly wrong.
The aim is that you finish a question knowing something you are glad to know - not that you feel caught out.
Accuracy, and getting it wrong
We work hard to get every question right, and we check our facts carefully. Even so, mistakes happen. History is contested, sources disagree, and sometimes the accepted version of a story turns out not to survive scrutiny.
Daily Queery is offered for entertainment and general interest. It is not authoritative reference material, and it should not be relied on as a source of historical, legal, medical or scientific fact. To the extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or consequence arising from errors, omissions or reliance on anything published here.
If you spot something wrong, please tell us. Email contact@dailyqueery.com with the question and what you believe the correct answer is. We read every message, and where a question is wrong we will correct or remove it. Corrections are genuinely welcome - a fixed question is better than a proud one.
Got a suggestion?
If there is a topic or a question you would like to see in the game, email it to contact@dailyqueery.com. Ideas from players are genuinely useful - this is a community the game is about, not just for.
